Kacper Kowalski embraces flight as part of his photographic practice. Originally trained as an architect, Kowalski developed a passion for paragliding which he describes as bordering on addiction. This print is from his newly released series “Event Horizon” (2022).

With the beginning of winter, Kowalski set out on a journey in search of harmony. Driven by instinct, he ventured farther and farther until he passed the boundaries of rationality. Between the beginning of January 2021 and the end of March, Kacper Kowalski has taken 76 solo flights in a gyrocopter or a motorized paraglider, passing a route of about 10 000km, spending 200 hours in the air. These pictures were taken from a height of approximately 150m above bodies of water in northern Poland, near Tricity where he lives.

Event Horizon functions separately as well as complements Kowalski project Arché. Both projects were created in similar locations and physical conditions, in a sense they are one, and couple like day and night, inside and outside, yin-yang.

This print is book mounted and sits in a beautiful black-stained Ash frame. Total dimensions of the frame 78.4 x 58.4.x 3.4 cm. Please allow 3 – 6 weeks for framing and shipping. Other works are available by this artist, to see a wider selection please contact us.
