One of the greatest image makers of his generation, Elliott Erwitt describes himself as ‘a professional photographer by trade and an amateur photographer by vocation.’ A member of Magnum since 1954, his camera has taken him all over the globe and his pictures have been the subject of many books and exhibitions worldwide. Artist and documenter, his work spans many traditions, subjects and approaches to photography. In over five decades of photography Elliott Erwitt (b.1928) has never lost his characteristic intrigue at the curiosities of life. His unique ability to capture beauty in the mundane as well as the famous, to find the commonplace in the exceptional and vice versa.

Containing over 500 pictures, over half of which have never been published before, Elliott Erwitt Snaps is a unique and comprehensive survey of his work. It includes famous images such as Nikita Khrushchev and Richard Nixon arguing in Moscow in 1959 and Marilyn Monroe with the cast of the movie The Misfits. This hardback copy of his book ‘Snaps’ is accompanied by a signed gelatin silver print of ‘Fifth Avenue’, displayed together in a custom-made box. A limited edition collectors box set of 100, produced by Phaidon in 2001. Please allow 3 – 4 weeks for this item to be shipped.
