‘SAND DUNE’ series is considered to be one of the most important and popular works made by Shoji Ueda (1913-2000), a prominent figure in Japanese Photography. The series was created in the famous Tottori sand dunes in his hometown. Using his own family members as subjects, each scene poetically combines the subjects with the background of Tottori’s skies and sand dunes. This is the regular version of the portfolio that contains six dune works—including “Papa, Mama and Children (1949)” and “Sand Dune Landscape with My Wife (1950)”.
