During the 1960s and 1970s, Ed Ruscha created a series of 16 small, self-published books that became the catalyst for the way artists could approach the book form. ‘Thirty-four Parking Lots’ (1974) was Ruscha’s fifth photographically illustrated artist book, and the largest in format of his self-published works.
