This work is by German photographer Andreas Gefeller and is part of his newest series Dust (2022). In this series he visualises the process of combustion, touching upon topics of dissolution and new beginnings as well as the cycle of life and materials. Using a high speed flash, Gefeller photographed slag particles thrown into the air, which are usually produced during the incineration of residual waste. Gefeller enlarged these tiny particles and made them visible to the naked eye. The work captures an everyday moment of human civilisation that is both fleeting and essential. It thus refers to the current debates about dealing with raw materials and climate change. This framed archival pigment print is part of a special size and edition. The print floats in a beautiful oak wood frame. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipping.
