Stones On the Wall, Mason Yard, 1965

Gered Mankowitz is an English photographer best known for his photographs of major musicians and bands. He has worked with a range of artists from The Rolling Stones to Jimi Hendrix, Marianne Faithfull to Kate Bush, Suzi Quatro to Annie Lennox and many more! ⁠

These photographs were taken during Mankowitz’s first photoshoot with The Rolling Stones in 1965,  in an old building site in between Mason’s Yard and Ormond’s Yard. It was also during this session that the album cover for “Out Of Our Heads, UK” was shot.
