As part of Bostock’s series ‘Guardians’, this photo was taken in the Camargue (France) between 2018 and 2019 for Liberty London’s release of their new Liberty Vault patterned shirt collection. The inspiration was the traditional shirts worn in The Camargue, which have been sported by the region’s ‘Guardians’ since the sixteenth century. The Guardians as they are known wear their patterned shirts most of the time, but are particularly impressively dressed for community events or parties, which are frequent. The idea originates from a historical background, but the exuberance of the patterns also expresses something about the cowboys’ and girls’ way of life.

The Collotype, invented in France approximately 150 years ago, stands as a pillar of quality and versatility in the history of photographic prints. Artists can achieve an enormous range of aesthetic possibilities with the help of highly-skilled master printers. This print floats in a  beautiful wooden walnut box. Please allow 2-4 weeks for framing and shipping.
